Amanda Lear - How To Undress In Front Of Your Husband - NOVA Magazine, May 1971

Amanda Lear was one of Duffy’s more controversial models. This series of images were taken for Nova magazine in 1971 for an article titled: ‘How to undress in front of your husband’ on the iconic Panton chair designed by Verner Panton in 1960.

The now highly collectible Nova Magazine released in May 1971 also featured a Duffy photograph on the cover. Also included was this series of images which were designed to be cut up and made into a flip-book of Amanda Lear performing a striptease.

It was thought that Amanda had in fact been born male - something she has never confirmed one way or another. In one interview she claimed that David Bowie had started the rumor. Duffy loved controversy and it’s highly likely that he chose to work with Amanda for that very reason. Amanda Lear has had a highly successful career in several different genres and was a longtime muse of the artist Salvador Dali.

The original magazine article can be seen here.
