Mary Tamm (b.22 Mar 1950 – 26 July 2012) Was a British stage and TV actress.
Born in Yorkshire in 1950 Tamm studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art from 1969-71, before she began acting on stage.
Tamm was photographed by Duffy very early in her career to promote her latest role in "The Odessa File" (1974). She went on to star in "The Likely Lads" (1976) before landing her best-known role in "Doctor Who" between 1978 and 1984. A role that she revisited shortly before she died in 2012. The original image accompanied a report by George Perry for the the Sunday Times Magazine published on the 10th of November 1974. In the feature titled 'Tamm On Her Hands,' Mary Tamm straddled a pommel horse and is described as 'The antithesis of the film starlet, a serious actress of whom we shall hear much more.'
