In this issue of Queen magazine, Duffy shot various models in Yellow outfits. The first image features an iconic hat by Millner James Wedge. Similar to the green hat modelled by Ursula Andress a year later for the cover of Vogue.
Initially, the magazine was called ‘The Queen’ but in 1953 it was invigorated by its new owner and became known just as ‘Queen.’ The magazine attracted a much younger audience and embraced the Swinging Sixties. Queen magazine supported the pirate radio station ‘Radio Caroline.’ When the channel first went on air it operated from Queen's editorial offices. Queen magazine eventually was merged with the English version of Harper's Bazaar into “Harpers & Queen.”
