Duffy photographed model Jill Kennington for the article "Disc Clothes" featured in this issue of Queen Magazine. Duffy often worked with Jill Kennington and an image of her from Queen Magazine was chosen for the cover of his monograph book.
This backdrop was used before by Duffy to photograph Maggi Echardt for Vogue in 1962.
Initially, the magazine was called ‘The Queen’ but in 1953 it was invigorated by its new owner and became known just as ‘Queen.’ The magazine attracted a much younger audience and embraced the Swinging Sixties. Queen magazine supported the pirate radio station ‘Radio Caroline.’ When the channel first went on air it operated from Queen's editorial offices. Queen magazine eventually was merged with the English version of Harper's Bazaar into “Harpers & Queen.”
