Leo Joseph Suenens - 1972

Leo Joseph Suenens (b.16 July 1904 – 6 May 1996) was a Belgian-born Catholic who rose to high prominence, and at the time of his death, he was one of the four living Cardinals elevated by Pope John XXIII.

Cardinal Suenens served as Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussel from 1961 to 1979. During this time, Duffy photographed him for the Sunday Times Magazine, which was published on the 2nd of April 1972.
