

Kenneth Gilbert More, CBE (20 September 1914 – 12 July 1982) was born in Buckinghamshire and began a brief acting career before World War II. After being demobilised, he became a highly successful television actor. Best known for his roles in 'A Night to Remember' (1958) 'The Longest Day' (1962), and 'Scrooge' (1970), More's career on stage and screen spanned over four decades. In 1969, Moore starred in the Duffy production of 'Oh! What a Lovely War.'
Shot by Duffy in 1960 for the Vogue article - 'I Don't Know About Fashion, but I Know What I Like.' The same year, More starred in 'Sink The Bismark!' The feature for Vogue included Tom Courtenay, Frank Norman, Lionel Bart, Leo McKern, Jeremy Spenser, and Ron Moody.
The Kenneth More Theatre, named in honour of the actor, was founded in 1975 in Ilford East London.
