Model Janice Dickinson at age 20 during her time in Paris shot for French ELLE by Duffy in June 1975. After being turned down by New York modeling agencies Dickinson traveled to France. At the time, American fashion magazines were dominated by blue-eyed, blonde-haired models. The progressive and diverse European fashion industry was much more welcoming, elevating Dickinson to 'Supermodel' status. On her return to New York in 1978 she was in such high demand that she spent the next several years working for nearly four times the standard rate.
Duffy also photographed Janice Dickinson for the cover of the issue which can be seen here.
