

Brian Bedford (16 February 1935 – 13 January 2016) was an English actor. Born in West Yorkshire, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London from 1952–55 in the same class as Albert Finney, Alan Bates and Peter O’Toole. Primarily a stage actor, throughout his career, he achieved 27 seasons of acting and/or directing at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada. In 1966, Bedford starred in the John Frankenheimer film Grand Prix’ which Duffy Photographed for the Sunday Times magazine. Bedford passed away in January 2016 at age 80.
Duffy took this photograph during the 1966 Monaco Grand Prix for the Sunday Times Magazine, published on the 23rd of October 1968. It was during this event the John Frankenheimer film 'Grand Prix' was being filmed starring James Garner, Yves Montand & Françoise Hardy.
