Barrington Linoel ‘Barry’ Driscoll (December 15, 1926 – April 30, 2006) pictured with his wife Kiffi Bowerley. Driscoll was a British painter, wildlife artist, and sculptor. During the Second World War, Driscoll moved to Shropshire, where he often skipped school to roam the countryside with a sketchbook. After serving in the army in 1947, he enrolled at St Martin’s School of Art in 1948, which led to a place at the Royal College of Art. In 1960, he painted 3 large murals at the London Zoo. Driscoll became an illustrator in the mid-1960s, and his work regularly appeared in the national press. By 1982, he became a sculptor, which he declared was easy when compared with painting. Driscoll passed away on the 30th of April 2006 from cancer, aged 79.
