Roger Vadim was photographed by Duffy for the promotion of the film “Circle of Love.” La Ronde was released in October 1964 and was directed by Vadim who went on to write and direct over 30 films.
The session also features Anna Karina rose to prominence in the 1960’s as a muse to Jean-Luc Godard. Born in Denmark in 1940, Karina moved to Paris when she was 18 promptly becoming a top model.
The piece also features Jane Fonda, Marie Dubois, Catherine Spaak, and Valérie Lagrange.
Duffy also shot a selection of backlit colour fashion for this issue featuring Nicole De Lamargé and Hiroko Matsumoto.
Hiroko Matsumoto was the first ever Japanese model for a French clothing collection. Upon meeting Pierre Cardin in Japan in 1960, she went to Paris to become his top model. Known as "Miss Hiroko" Duffy photographed her twice before her retirement in 1967.
