This month, Chris Duffy represented the Duffy Archive at Behind The Lens, a special event at Lightroom celebrating the photographers whose images helped define David Bowie’s visual legacy.
Joining fellow Bowie photographers Kevin Cummins, Denis O’Regan, Geoff MacCormack, Richard Young and Tony McGee, Chris shared stories behind some of his father Brian Duffy’s most iconic Bowie photographs, offering insight into the creative process behind images that have become part of music history. Chris also reflected on his own connection to Bowie’s career, having photographed the press images for the Scary Monsters sessions while assisting his father.
Presented alongside David Bowie: You’re Not Alone, the event brought together photographers to discuss the imagery that shaped Bowie’s public image and enduring cultural impact. It was a fitting opportunity to celebrate Brian Duffy’s remarkable contribution to Bowie’s visual identity and to highlight the Duffy Archive’s ongoing work in preserving and sharing this important photographic legacy.
