Initially, Queen magazine was called 'The Queen’ but in 1953 it was invigorated by a new owner and became known just as ‘Queen.’ Attracting a much younger audience and embracing the ‘Swinging Sixties’ Queen magazine supported the pirate radio station ‘Radio Caroline’ and when it first went on air it operated from their editorial offices. Queen magazine eventually morphed into 'Harpers & Queen.'
