"C'est La Mode Évasion" ('This is Escape Fashion'), photographed in Morocco in 1963. This outtake was not used in the final feature.
The caption for this image reads:
It's the Lawrence of Arabia mirage
Sands, camels, sun, yes, it's the dream setting for a suit like this (left), in tussah barely tinted with beige. But imagine it with other accessories: it's the most peaceful, the most Parisian of summer ensembles. Very notched collar. Inlaid belt. Three pockets with large flaps. Straight skirt. (Emma Christie - Gil Coutin. 439 F, at Orphée). If you want, like here, to accentuate his “tropical” side, make him a windproof tiger muslin hood (Paulette) and put him in canvas sand boots with leather noses (39.90 F, Spring).
The feature was released on the 19th of April, 1963, in issue No.904.
