Vidal Sassoon – Portrait – London 1969

Vidal Sassoon was a British born hairstylist shot by Duffy in 1969. Vidal opened his first salon in Mayfair in 1954 and created the classic ‘Bob’ cut which became a staple of the Swinging Sixties movement worn by Mary Quant and the hip and fashionable. In 1965 he designed his iconic Five-Point cut on model Grace Coddington. By the 1970s he had become a worldwide brand and in the 1980s he sold his business interests to devote himself to philanthropy.
