Michelle Phillips (b. June 4, 1944) rose to prominence as a member of The Mamas and the Papas during the mid 60s. Her voice was deemed by Time magazine as the "purest soprano in pop music." As a founding member of the group, Philips co-wrote many of their hits including California Dreamin'. This single along with Monday, Monday were certified as gold records by RIAA.
During the 1970s Philips transitioned into a successful acting career. Duffy photographed the actress for a feature titled 'Molls of the Moment' which was published 3rd February 1974. Phillips had just starred in the John Milius film 'Dillinger' (1973) starring Warren Oates.
