Jeanne Moreau (b.23 Jan 1928 – 31 July 2017) French stage and film actress, singer, screenwriter, and director. She won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for Seven Days... Seven Nights (1960). Moreau continued to appear in films into her 80s and Orson Welles called her "the greatest actress in the world” and she was one of France's most accomplished actresses. As a vocalist, she released several albums and once performed with Frank Sinatra at Carnegie Hall.
This photograph was taken in Mexico during the filming of 'Viva Maria' in 1965. The movie earned both Moreau and Bardot a nomination for Best Foreign Actress at the 20th British Academy Film Awards. Jeanne Moreau won the award. Although this image was not used the article can be seen here.
