The Sunday Times Magazine was first published on 4th February 1962 with a cover shot by David Bailey of Jean Shrimpton wearing a Mary Quant dress - The magazine immediately settled into the swinging sixties and has been a weekly supplement ever since.
Michael Rand, Art Director for the magazine since its launch for 30 years until 1992 said the credo was “Grit plus glamour – fashion juxtaposed with war photography and pop art”.
